What's My Wife Cooking: Publix...

Bratwurst with Peppers and Onions

Ingredients:

5 (4-ounce) links bratwurst (or mild Italian sausage)
1 (12-ounce) package fresh fajita mix (peppers/onions)
1 or 1.5 cups of water
Hot Dog buns
Deli-style mustard

Directions:

Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high for 2-3 minutes.
Place sausage in pan, cook for 4-6 minutes, turn often or until browned.
Add peppers/onions, cook and stir for 2-minutes

Bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat on pan to medium-low and cover, simmer for 15-20 minutes or until sausage in 160-degrees.

Slice buns in half lengthwise, leaving half-inch uncut.
Spread 2 teaspoons mustard on each bun, top with sausage and half cut of peppers and onions.

Serve and enjoy!

My wife didn't do the cooking this week, our recipe comes from Janice at Publix on Highway 53 in Harvest.
